Gault&Millau's review

The Grand Duchy is very lucky to boast this kind of establishment! That being said, Ryodo Kajiwara is such a distinguished representative of Japan that he has become an ambassador for gastronomes and aficionados of Japanese cuisine beyond the borders of the country. Although he also has had to endure the horrors of lockdown, he has come out of it with the ultimate take-away. The excellence of the dishes is the order of the day, the mastery shining through in the preparation and quality of the products. From wagyu beef to tuna in the form of sashimi and sushi, each memorable mouthful is a permanent one-upmanship on the previous. Everything is staged with a rare elegance and accuracy, both on the plate and in the pared-back decoration of the restaurant. The arrival in the team of the most Japanese of Europeans, Olivier Chocq, has not only not impaired on the service of the serving staff in traditional dress, but also enhances the quality of the experience with his meticulous advice on sakes that accompany each plate with brio. May the rising sun shine brightly on our "Chef of the Year 2022" Ryodo Kajiwara!

Boasting undoubtedly one of the most popular terraces in Luxembourg-City, this establishment with its beautiful view welcomes you in all seasons in its very cosy interior. Jonathan Germay in the kitchen cooks up fresh and succulent dishes such as a roasted peach salad with Parma and old balsamic or a "fregola sarda" risotto with peas and vongole. The restaurant has also put together a generous wine list that can be browsed while sharing little delicacies.

With Morris Clip, a good dose of his good mood, his authenticity and his joviality will inevitably find their way onto your plate. The extremely tasty King Crab remoulade with tobiko red caviar, avocado and Kaffir lime is proof of this, while his veal meatballs with abbey beer bring childhood memories flooding back. A perfect sole meunière takes us back to our basics; greatness in simplicity. Let’s not forget that this is also a "bar where to eat" to share and enjoy few mini lobster rolls or shrimp croquettes in a friendly atmosphere.

With his traditional cuisine that smacks of terroir, chef Thierry Duhr has a gift for satisfying the most demanding gourmets and foodies. The crab with lime and fine herbs, fennel and Granny Smith foam is a fine example of springtime freshness, while the homemade grey shrimp croquette from Zeeland is generous and full-flavoured. A friendly service and a setting that is as soothing as ever add to the long list of strong points, with the large bay window adding a beautiful luminosity.
